Virat Kohli was born on 5 November 1988 in a Punjabi family in Delhi. His father Prem Kohli was a criminal lawyer and mother Saroj Kohli is a housewife. He also have a elder brother Vikas and a elder sister Bhavna too. According to his family, when Kohli was 3 years old, he had taken cricket bat in his hand, and asked his father to bowl.
Kohli grew up in Uttam Nagar and got education from Vishal Bharati Public School. In 1998, West Delhi Cricket Academy establised and he involved in that in age of the 9 year. Kohli’s father then admistted Kohli in the Academy when his neighbor told him,
“Virat should not waste his time in the street cricket, but he should learn commercially in an academy.”
Rajeev Kumar Sharma’s trained Kohli and he played a match in Sumit Dogra Academy. In the 9th class he was put in the Savier Convent so that he could get help in cricket training. Apart from playing Kohli was also good in studies, his teacher tells him, “A promising and intelligent child.”
On December 18, 2006, his father died after resting for a long time due to brain stroke. Remembering his early life, Kohli tells in an interview that,
“I have seen a lot in my life. I lost my father only in young days, which also led to family business staggered, because of that I had to stay in the rented room. This time it was very difficult for me and my family. Even today, remembering that time my eyes become moist. “
According to Kohli, his father helped him in cricket training since childhood. “My father was the biggest support for me.” It was only he who used to play with me every day. Even today, sometimes I feel his loss.
Virat Kohli Career
Virat Kohli is an international Indian cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and sometimes bowling with right-hand. He is currently the captain of the Indian Cricket team of Test cricket and the vice-captain of the Indian team of one-day cricket. In the Indian Premier League (IPL), he is the captain of the Royal Challenger Bangalore.
He has also represented Delhi in a multi-age team in domestic cricket. He was the captain of India in the Under-19 team, who made history in the Under-19 World Cup in Malaysia in 2008. A few months later, he started his international career against Sri Lanka. Initially he was kept as a reserve player in the team, but soon he proved himself in the middle of the one-day cricket.
Virat Kohli was one of the few Indian cricketer in the World Cup in 2011. Kohli played his first Test match in Kingston against the West Indies in 2011.
