Dhoni was born on July 7, 1981 in Ranchi, Bihar. They are from a Rajput family. His family is mainly from Uttarakhand, but after his father’s transfer, he settled in Ranchi. Dhoni has a brother Narendra Singh Dhoni and a sister Jayanti Gupta who has been married. Dhoni admits his ideal Adam Gilchrist, but in his childhood, his idol is Sachin Tendulkar, Bollywood superhero Amitabh Bachchan, and Lata Mangeshkar. Dhoni completed his schooling from DAV Jawahar Vidya Mandir in Ranchi, Bihar (now Jharkhand).
